Independence Day

Posted at 12:54 AM on 6-22-08 by Rob T Firefly

Our next NYC2600 meeting happens to fall on the Fourth of July, Independence day. That being the case, we would like to address the question of whether or not there is still a meeting taking place.

The answer is a loud, boisterous “yes!” The meeting is always on the first Friday of the month, regardless of other events it conflicts with.

We realize that many may not wish to spend the holiday at the meeting, but for those of us who will, we have decided to make a night of it. After the meeting, we shall investigate some celebration options. Current discussions with a few regulars have suggested viewing the fireworks, but once there we can investigate any options that come to us.

Whether you’re staying home, coming with us, or doing something else entirely, have a great holiday!

Moving day

picPlease pardon any hiccups or interruptions in parts of this site while we move house to a new server.

EDIT: The move seems to be a complete success! We have found a new home with our dear friends at Hello World Web, a gracious host who even had a nice table set up with some cookies and pies for us on our first day.

Grey had the cookies. I had the pies.

Apple ][niversary

Posted at 12:53 PM on 6-5-08 by Rob T Firefly

Today is the anniversary of the release of the Apple ][, which debuted on June 5, 1977.

If you’re like us, and we know we are, then this baby or one of its descendants has had a major role in bringing you to where you are today.

Happy 31st birthday, old pal!
