Important note!
The first Friday of next month just so happens to fall upon January 1st, 2010; New Year’s Day. (For those of you keeping score, it’s been 11 years since the last time this happened, and it won’t happen again for another six.)
Of course, we don’t expect people to give up their New Year’s Day festivities and/or recuperation to come to the 2600 meeting. That being the case, we’ll be doing something extremely rare in the grand scheme of 2600 meetings. The official date for the meeting is being pushed forward a week, to the second Friday in January.
So, come out and enjoy the first 2600 meeting of the 2010s on Friday, January 8! Mark your calendars! Tell your friends! Update your tattoos!
And of course, we at NYC2600.net wish all of you and yours a wonderful holiday season, and a very happy and safe New Year.

NYC2600’s own volt4ire is leaving for Washington, DC in pursuit of that strange quarry known in hushed whispers as “college education.”
volt4ire, you’re a brilliant guy, an esteemed colleague, and a great friend. On behalf of this site and myself I wish you the best, all the best, and nothing but the best. You shall be missed, and I eagerly await your visits home and sordid tales of university life.

The 2600 team have opened their new web boards at talk.hope.net!
This is a good thing. Not only will this forum be used by the community to get a head start on planning 2008’s HOPE conference, there is also a board dedicated to the threat faced by the Hotel Pennsylvania.
