Those of us who take the E or V trains to Citigroup are very familiar with Lexington Avenue station’s long, imposing escalator.
Recently, that escalator served as the stage for an Improv Everywhere stunt, in which they cheerfully gave 2,000 high-fives to commuters during the morning rush.

Sidepocket, I-baLL and Enamon have sadly confirmed what was heard as whispered rumors last meeting.
Around the Clock diner, the East Village eatery which has been home to our post-meeting dinners for a very long time, has closed its doors. The staff and management have been released, and the owners apparently plan to remodel the place into a four-star type of French restaurant.
We are saddened by the loss of our meeting’s home-away-from-home. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff and management for being so good to us over the years, and wish them all the best in finding new work.
After the jump. please enjoy some photos from our adventures at Around the Clock.

Did you know that a secret tunnel has been burrowed through the Earth over the past century joining New York City with London, England?
Did you also know that a massive telescope system has been set up at both ends of the tunnel, giving us and them perfect views of each other?
Be sure to check out the Telectroscope at Fulton Ferry Landing, near the Brooklyn Bridge. It will be operational until June 15.

The so-called “hypersonic sound beam” billboards are beginning to pop up around town. These billboards are equipped with ultrasonic emitters that focus a narrow beam of sound through the air on a highly directional carrier wave. When you walk past a particular spot at a particular time, the result is sound that only you can hear, which seems to come from inside your own head.
Naturally, it’s being used to make people hear strange voices in their heads whispering things like “Who’s there? Who’s there?” in order to market a paranormal-themed TV show.
An insightfully titled Gawker post asks, “How soon will it be until in addition to the do-not-call list, we’ll have a ‘do not beam commercial messages into my head’ list?”
Have you been hit with it yet?
