Please note that all in-person 2600 meetings, including our own, are suspended until further notice due to the pandemic.

The following info remains posted both for historical reference and with a view toward eventually resuming our in-person meetings when doing so becomes safe. It does not refer to a currently-active happening, or promote gathering in-person for any reason while it is still extremely irresponsible to do so.

During this crisis, we are conducting NYC2600 meetings virtually. Stay tuned to this site’s front page for info on how to join the next Virtual NYC2600 Meeting.

Read 2600: The Hacker Quarterly’s notes on the current state of in-person meetings.

Stay safe, wear your damn masks, and wash your damn hands.

The NYC2600 meetings take place in the Atrium at 875 Third Avenue. The Atrium is on the corner of 53rd Street and 3rd Ave, right across from our former home at Citigroup Center. There is a nice atrium with connections to lots of amenities, including the Lexington Avenue subway station.

On the lower level, at the foot of some glowing glass-sided escalators, stands a nice food-court’s-worth of tables and chairs at which we gather. You are more than welcome to say hello, pull up a chair, introduce yourself, and join in!

The easiest way by far for most people in the area to get to the Atrium is to take the subway.

From Penn Station, and from the New York City Port Authority, the E train is quickest and easiest. Just hop on an uptown E train, and get off at the Lexington Avenue station. Follow the exit signs to 3rd Avenue, which will lead you directly into the Atrium’s food court.

From Grand Central Station, take the uptown 6 train just one stop to the Lexington Avenue station. Or, just walk two blocks East to 3rd Avenue, and then eight blocks uptown (North) on 3rd Avenue, and you’ll reach 53rd and 3rd.

If you’re willing to spend a little extra cash, you may find it easier to take a taxi from your starting point in NYC to 53rd and 3rd. For a beginner’s guide to the subways and taxis, see our NYC Transit page.
